The present team of Valuers and Auctioneers is led by Dick Ellis, a third generation of one of the founding families. Dick is ably assisted by Co-Directors, Simon Knowles and Hugo Lemon and as considered appropriate, by a number of associated specialised consultants. All are graduates in their respective fields of specialisation.
Director and Company Secretary, Jacqui Arbery, is responsible for all the Company's administration and associated financial matters.
Dick is a third generation direct descendant of Harvey Ellis, a founder of the original firm of Pretty & Ellis, and qualified as a Chartered Auctioneer.
An "all rounder" with over forty years experience as a Valuer and Auctioneer, Dick now concentrates his interests on English Furniture and Silver, Books and Antique Maps.
Dick regularly takes the rostrum and skillfully combines a spirit of theatre and fun, to ensure that the process of selling is as entertaining as it is effective
Jacqui is our experienced leader; and she has skills developed from a background in finance, computers and administration.
She has been largely responsible for the growth of the business in the last 20 years and continues to drive it forward in a never ending quest for further expansion and efficiency.
Jacqui also brings her considerable experience and rare sense of humour to the rostrum, as an active participant in the auction process.
